ASSURANCE AS A NEW BELIEVER
Read Titus 1:1-5; while imagining yourself in the role of Titus for a moment, who also was a new believer, to whom the Apostle Paul wrote that epistle (letter of instruction). Also, know that you are saved, valued, special, and have a purpose in life just as Titus did.
Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the sake of the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness, in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by the command of God our Savior; To Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior. This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you--
Titus 1:1-5 ESV
Imagine yourself now hearing these words of the Master, Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, so you can be reassured of your salvation and eternal life.
Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life. “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the One and Only Son of God.
John 3:14-18 HSCB
As a new believer it is important to commit your life into the will of Father through Christ Jesus by the power and protection of the Holy Spirit; knowing that you will have salvation, answered prayer, forgiveness, victory and guidance for life by your faith in the Son of God. Never forget this!
Salvation
And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. – 1 John 5:11-12 NIV
Answered Prayer
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. – John 16:24 NIV [Do know that it’s not a genie in a bottle concept; answers given by the Holy Spirit may have little to do with your wants but instead be dealing with your true needs, that only God knows best.]
Forgiveness
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. – 1 John 1:9 NIV
Victory
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV
Guidance
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV
Please participate in learning the Word of God by regularly reading the Bible, meeting with others who also believe in Jesus Christ (the One and Only the Bible tells us of; not falling for impostors), and do go to a Church that teaches from the Bible. Protect yourself from those who will try to deceive you and cause you to drift away from such a straight and narrow path as this.
Be careful not to be pulled off track. For example, see Galatians 1:1-9 NIV.
Paul, an apostle—sent not from men nor by a man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead--
and all the brothers and sisters with me, To the churches in Galatia: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel--
which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!
As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse! - Gal 1:1-9 NIV
